CATPC presents “Learn, Dig, Build” at K21
28 November 2025
In the framework of the exhibition Land and Soil. How We Live Together, on view until 19 April 2026 at K21 in Düsseldorf, Germany, CATPC hosted the program Learn, Dig, Build, consisting of a conference and an educational trajectory.
Learn Dig Build - Conference
In the conference Learn, Dig, Build, CATPC engaged with some of the most forward-thinking artists of this generation to discuss the relationship between land, art, and the future.
The conference centered CATPC’s position as a community of plantation workers. Speaking from various lived experiences, they together reflected on their work with land, NFTs, and regeneration, and on how their perspectives may resonate with or amplify the regenerative practices of CATPC.
Program:
Saturday, 29 November, 11:30 — Learn
CATPC in conversation with: Johannes Büttner, Renzo Martens, and Alex Wissel.
Saturday, 29 November, 12:00 — Dig

Saturday, 29 November, 12:50 — Build

The conference was hosted by CATPC and Kolja Reichert, Chief Curator of K21. It is developed as a collaboration between K21, CATPC, and Human Activities and is supported by the Mondriaan Fund.

Learn, Dig, Build – Educational Program
CATPC also developed an extensive educational program for young visitors of K21. Following CATPC’s unprecedented example, students learn how they too can use art to claim ownership over their own history, land, and future.
Students will engage in workshops with CATPC members Matthieu Kasiama, Mbuku Kimpala, and Ced’art Tamasala. There are special programs with the local Lycée Français and the Werk:Klub workshop, and throughout the exhibition there will be guided tours where schoolchildren will learn about CATPC and how to Learn, Dig, and Build.
